Ten games were played, from the 10 years girls to senior ladies.
The Division 1 (A) game was full of action between Bolton Point Doodlebugs who defeated Rathmines Raptors 48-42.
Brooke Mooney, captain of the Doodlebugs, was proud of her team’s effort.
“It was a tough game but we remained strong in the second half to come away with a win,” Mooney said.
“It’s always a rewarding feeling and to win four years in a row against tough competition proved how in sync we are with each other.”
Raptors’ coach Tracy Baldock felt her girls played a brilliant game.
“The girls may not have achieved a win on the scoreboard, but I hope they all hold their heads high,” she said.
“I have never seen such an awesome amount of defensive pressure all over the court for the entire length of the game. They did exactly what I asked of them and with such dignity. Champions in my eyes.”
In Division 1 (B), Morisset Magic defeated Bolton Point Vipers 43-38.
Magic coach Cheryl King said the game was physical, clean and well umpired.
“It was a tough game. Magic were down every quarter,” King said. “But they fought hard in the end and in the last five minutes were able to get up by five.”
In Division 2, Rathmines Zeros defeated Morisset Wii Not Fit 27-25.
Zeros were minor and major premiers.
Coach Kerrie Brady was proud of her team.
“Great game, great opposition. The effort the girls put in, under conditions many of the players had not faced before, was a credit to them as netballers,” she said.
“These girls are 13 and 14 playing mature women. I was so proud to have the other team approach me and commend my team on their sportsmanship.”
