“The Bonnells Bay Progress Association is a volunteer organisation looking to serve the Morisset Peninsula community and those living in the broader Southlake area,” association president Dave Wood said.
“The association supports sustainable and sympathetic development of the Morisset Peninsula being mindful of the amenity and lifestyle of existing residents.”
Morisset Park and District Action Group recently held a meeting to discuss the proposed helipad, the subject of a DA being assessed by Lake Macquarie City Council.
The council is the final arbitrator of the controversial DA. About 120 people attended.
Councillors Laurie Coghlan, Kay Fraser and Rosie Dawson attended. Councillor Wendy Harrison tendered her apology as she was interstate.
A PowerPoint presentation reflecting the major concerns of residents who will be affected should the DA be approved was shown.
The progress association meets on the first Wednesday of March, June, September and December.
