The NSW Environment Protection Authority (EPA) has allocated more than $75,000 in grant funding to help combat illegal dumping in Lake Macquarie City.

“This announcement will allow council to implement a new illegal dumping project that will target three illegal dumping hotspots at Barnsley, Edgeworth and Awaba by installing gates, fencing and signage,” Lake Macquarie City Council’s sustainability manager Dean Chapman said.
“It will also help to support the successful Eco Angels program, which allows community volunteers to host clean ups at hot spots.”
The funding would help council build on the success of its working partnership with the Hunter-Central Coast Illegal Dumping (RID) Squad, Mr Chapman said.
