NSW Netball had four divisions for its recent State Age Championships, and Westlakes Netball Association’s newcomers to the rep scene, the 12s team, were graded into Division 2, the top 35 teams in NSW.

They finished in 9th place in that division, a fabulous result for girls in their first year of rep netball.
The 12s started the season with a bonding session at the RAW Challenge, at Doyalson, and they attacked the course with vigour, which set the tone for their season.
Playing netball is at the mercy of the elements.
At the start of the season carnivals and training were held in heatwave conditions; at the end of the season players faced a major cold snap and the carnival at Baulkham Hills was cancelled due to an east coast low.
Two weeks later at Campbelltown, the girls were itching to play netball, regardless of the weather, and we played in the pouring rain, without complaint.
It takes a lot of time and dedication to be a rep player, training twice a week for five months, and all those Sunday carnivals. But the rewards are enormous.
