MACQUARIE Scorpions duo Blake Gallen and Josh Schmiedel have been named in the NSW Country rugby league team to tour Samoa in October. The pair were among nine Newcastle Rebels players named in the squad after downing Illawarra 23-12 in the championship final on Saturday at Camden. It was Newcastle’s first title win since 2012. The Macquarie duo backed up to play on Sunday, helping the Scorpions to a 34-6 win over Wests at Toronto.
