The band will take on classics from Ivor Bosanko, Antonín Dvorak and others from 2pm.
Bosanko is knows for songs such as In This Quiet Moment and Vision and Task, while Dvorak’s compositions include Symphony No 9 and Humoresques.
The concert will also feature solo numbers.
The band’s talent was highlighted at the National Band Championships, in Gawler, South Australia, over the Easter weekend.
“We did very well,” the band’s publicity officer Kindi Smith said.
“Toronto Brass was the top placed NSW band in the B Grade section, placing third behind Boroondara Brass, from Victoria, and the second-placed Cairns Brass, from Queensland.”
On the Monday of the championships, a few Toronto Brass members competed in the solos and ensembles sections.
Nicholas Scott placed third in the open high tuba Eb; Kindi Smith was sixth in the open soprano; the open quintet of Tim O'Hearn, Trish O'Hearn, Robert Scanlon, Garry Kosky and Nicholas Scott finished 2nd; and the open quartet of Kindi Smith, Greg Smith, Robert Scanlon and Dave Tayor was third.
Toronto Brass is also considering launching a junior band program.
Young people aged up to 19 are invited to take part on Thursdays during the school term, from 6pm to 7pm at the Rathmines Westlakes Music Centre.
“This is perfect for beginners and early starters, and a good introduction to our main brass band if you are a more advanced player,” Ms Smith said.
People interested in learning more about the junior band program are invited to contact Trish O'Hearn by email at trishohearn@yahoo.com or send her a text message on 0402 003 214.
The concert at Toronto Workers Club on Sunday is suitable for all ages.
Children younger than 16 will be admitted free.
Tickets for adults cost $15, and $12 for concessions.
