Emergency services and salvage crews remain on site conducting a complex clean up and recovery operation.

Southbound traffic is being diverted off the M1 Pacific Motorway at Palmers Road then onto Cessnock Road and Wangi Road (via Toronto and Morisset) and then returning back on to the M1 Pacific Motorway.

Due to the high volumes of traffic using the diversion route, significant delays are being experienced.

Motorists should consider travelling on the Old Pacific Highway (via Swansea) as an alternative, or delaying non-essential travel.

* Northbound lanes on the M1 Pacific Motorway remain open and are not impacted.

Bus routes 270, 275 and 276 travelling via Toronto and Dora Creek are also delayed up to 20 minutes.

ONE southbound lane has reopened on the M1 Pacific Motorway in Freemans Waterhole following the truck roll-over and fire.

One lane remains blocked as the clean-up operation continues.

The diversion at Palmers Road has been lifted but traffic remains heavy on the diversion route and also on the M1.

Southbound motorists are advised to allow additional travel time and exercise caution past the incident site.

Salvage crews and emergency services remain on site cleaning debris and a spill. 

Additionally, bus routes 270, 275 and 276 travelling via Toronto and Dora Creek are delayed up to 20 minutes. 

ALL southbound lanes on the M1 Pacific Motorway have reopened following a truck accident and fire which had the motorway blocked earlier this morning near Freemans Waterhole.

Emergency services and response crews worked to enable traffic to pass in one of two southbound lanes earlier. 

Traffic approaching the incident site is queued around 8km. However, now all lanes have reopened, delays are expected to ease.
