The work will involve traffic signals and minor kerb and median improvements between Thorne and Bay streets, the RMS said.
To reduce the impact to motorists work will be carried out between 6.30pm and 4.30am, weather permitting, from Sunday, June 5, to Friday, June 10.
A temporary 40 km/h reduced speed limit, lane closures and traffic control will be in place between The Boulevarde and Victory Parade for the safety of workers and motorists.
The work is part of the state government’s $5.5 million upgrade of Cary Street between The Boulevarde and Bay Street to improve safety and reduce congestion and delays during peak travel times.
