Lake Macquarie City Council will stage the expo at Event Cinemas, Glendale, on Wednesday, May 18.
The expo brings together a diverse range of services, resources and programs available to families in Lake Macquarie under the one roof.
Council’s community planning manager, John Ferguson, said this year’s expo would be of particular benefit to families with children younger than eight, who are seeking advice on child development, speech, nutrition and child safety.
“This free expo helps connect Lake Macquarie families and expecting parents with varied services and resources available in our community, and allows them to access on-the-spot advice from a range of experts,” Mr Ferguson said.
“At this year’s You’re Kidding Me Expo, families will be able to interact with more than 50 local service providers and hear talks from industry experts in speech development and night-time feeding.
“KidSafe will be offering free car seat restraint checks and there will be a dedicated parents’ room and kids’ entertainment area on site. Plus, the first 200 arrivals will receive a free ticket to a special mums and bubs screening of the new Angry Birds movie, happening after the expo at 12.30pm.”
More than 350 people attended last year’s You’re Kidding Me Expo.
