A 2016 Wikipedia posting provides two lists for solar PV plants globally which have a final capacity of 100 Mw (megawatts) or greater. The first list contains currently operating plants and has a total capacity of 9,387 Mw.
The second list contains similar plants both under construction and being planned, and has a total capacity of 28,008 Mw.
The combined total is 37,395 Mw and this, using the existing Broken Hill solar plant as the basis for calculation, would provide about 44 per cent of Australia’s total annual power requirement.
