This week marks the first edition under Fairfax Media's new publishing system, NewsNow.

In fact, the digital-first technology allows our Hunter Communities group journalists to report on location and publish immediately to lakesmail.com.au.

The website will be updated continually, providing more stories, photos, videos and interactive polls than ever before. 

The paper will continue to be printed each Thursday.
