Northern Power reached 9-201 from their 45 overs, then dismissed the visitors for 121.
The win takes Northern Power to a 10-point lead at the top of the competition ladder.
Barnes was at times brutal in dismantling a Terrigal attack that had been on top early.
Northern Power was 4-62 and 5-67 when Barnes came to the crease.
“We didn’t make the best start, but I decided to just play it by ear, and they probably bowled a bit too much leg side,” Barnes said.
A lush and slow outfield meant the aerial route was often most effective.
‘’It’s a really nice outfield. It’s soft under foot and beautiful to play on, but it’s slow,” Barnes said.
“You could absolutely lace the ball along the ground and it would go nowhere.”
Barnes struck two sixes and four boundaries.
He was well supported by Josh Abel (32) and Connor O’Beirne (20).
When Terrigal wicket-keeper Tim Bowring came on to bowl, it sparked an unusual sequence of events.
Bowring found himself on a hat-trick after removing Brett Lenton (18) and Dave Molan (0) in consecutive deliveries.
The would-be hat-trick ball, however, was dispatched for six by James McCombie (12 not out).
Barnes said chasing down his team’s 201 was a tough ask.
“The 201 we got was better than we were expecting. I thought a score of 160 or 170 was probably par,” he said.
Power’s Oliver Charlton claimed 3-12 off seven overs to earn bragging rights over his older brother and opening bowler Brendon.
“Oliver is our opening batsman, but he impressed me with his bowling at training, so I thought I’d give him a chance,” Barnes said.
Northern Power will host Southern Spirit at Toukley this Saturday.
Barnes said leading the ladder held no fears for his team.
“There’s no added pressure. We’re confident and playing with a lot of enjoyment,” he said.
