I RECENTLY received a reply letter from Lake Macquarie City Council to a letter I had sent to them requesting the removal of a massive gum tree on their property outside and in close proximity to my home, that I felt was a possible threat to persons and property.

I was so amazed at council's reply, that I would like to share it with the community.
It states that they give me permission to remove their tree on their property at my cost due to "council's very limited resources".
And as the tree is more than three metres tall, I must employ a qualified arborist to do the job.
I too have "limited resources" namely money as I am a pensioner.
I feel that council should be employing an arborist themselves to do the job as the tree is their tree on their property.
