TORONTO Diggers is launching a 12-week healthy lifestyle program, which it hopes will be a life changing experience for those who participate.
The If Not Now, When Toronto? program was created by Channel 7's Larry Emdur and celebrity personal trainer Cameron Byrnes.
It offers easy to follow recipes, exercise plans, food shopping lists, four boot camps and regular content about the best way to train as well as information about the body.
Toronto Diggers chief executive officer Cathy Handcock said the program was part of the club's dedication to health.
"When we finished the Alec Rice centre we wanted to continue the work we were doing to improve health within the community," Ms Handcock said.
"We do a healthy lifestyle program every year with our staff, and we see great results from it, so we decided to open it up to the community."
Ms Handcock said the program was only $35, which covers the cost of everything and $5 from each registration would be donated to Toronto High School.
"It was important to make sure everyone could afford it - this is not a money making venture for Toronto Diggers.
"A lot of it you can do at home, at your own pace, at your own level."
There are also monthly prizes and overall prizes including $1000 cash and a year's membership to Anytime Fitness Toronto for the biggest weight loss percentage, $500 cash for second and $250 cash for third.
The official launch event is this Saturday, August 29, at Toronto Diggers from 8am.
It will be followed by one of four boot camps at Toronto High School from 9am, run by Cameron Byrnes.
"If we change anyone's life it's going to be a success. We want this to be a life changing experience, not just a 12-week challenge," Ms Handcock said.
