The Bulls will go into the finals with momentum after defeating Karuah 22-20 at Morisset Showground on Saturday.

Morisset co-coach Peter Burgess said his team put 20 points on Karuah in the first half.

"We got away early and put on some rehearsed moves, which came together at the right time," he said.

"Then we went into snooze mode in the second half but a penalty goal managed to seal us the win."

Burgess said the game was good preparation for the coming battles that the team was likely to face in the finals.

"I've told them it's all mental football now and they'll understand what's expected of them in the finals," he said.

The Bulls will take on Fingal Bay in a qualifying final at the Lakeside Sporting Complex, Raymond Terrace, on Saturday at 1.20pm.

"There's not much between us - the first time we played them we lost by four points, the second time by two, so there's only six points between us," Burgess said.

Morisset have had a bad run of injuries but will have a full-strength side lining up against Fingal Bay.

"We are peaking and it's all coming together at the right time," Burgess said.

"Captain James Deaves has been in good form and leading from the front.

"He's a dynamic defender and he tackles himself to a standstill in just about every game.

"The brothers in the second row, Jake and Jerry Lowe, have also been very good for us," he said.

In the build-up to the finals, Morisset are focusing on rehearsing their moves, backing up the ball carrier and aiming up in defence.

If the Bulls lose to Fingal Bay, they have another chance to qualify for the semi-finals due to finishing second on the ladder.
