The four-bedroom waterfront property was sold by McGrath Real Estate Agents Warners Bay for more than $1.53 million.
The two-storey brick home is 14 years old and has five bathrooms, a private jetty and boat shed.
Located at 88 Stingaree Point Drive, the 8502-square-metre block backs onto Lake Macquarie.
Agent David Westerman said the property was listed for just one day before it was sold to a Sydney buyer planning to relocate to Lake Macquarie.
"There is a growing abundance of Sydney buyers looking to capitalise on great waterfronts in the Dora Creek, Toronto and Coal Point areas," Mr Westerman said.
"Dora Creek ticks a lot of boxes - it is an area that is really appealing to Sydneysiders because you have the lake close by, it's close to Sydney and it's great value for money.
"For this sort of house in Sydney, you would be looking at around $10 million."
