Fire crews and paramedics were called to a Glade Street house shortly after 6.30pm amid reports a washing machine at the property had caught fire.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman said firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, which caused minor damage to the laundry and smoke damage throughout the property.
No-one was injured in the fire, which comes amid Samsung recalling six top-loader models due to moisture potentially penetrating their electrical components and posing a fire hazard.
It is understood the model involved in Tuesday night’s incident was one of the recalled Samsung washers.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokeswoman said on Wednesday that two children were taken to hospital as a precaution but they had not suffered smoke inhalation.
