Some say climate change is a myth.
Others say it's the greatest threat faced by the planet.
Some reckon if it is happening then it's a natural phenomenon over which man has no influence - and Australians even less so.
Others are convinced that our problems are man-made and can be reversed.
Whatever your view, you're invited to an expo at Morisset this Sunday where some world class presenters and academics will explore the subject.
Also on the agenda will be diverse subjects including alternative energy sources, nutrition, local pollution concerns, and healthy living tips.
It won't be heavy going - the expo will include fun workshops, lively presentations, and entertainment for children.
The Eco Health Expo is an initiative of Morisset and Peninsula Sustainable Neighbourhood Group.
Spokesperson Norbert Lica said people often roll their eyes when climate change is mentioned.
"They tend to think that climate change is all doom and gloom, but it's not," he said.
"It's an opportunity, really. An opportunity for businesses to develop new technologies and responses, and an opportunity for people to learn more about these new technologies and things like alternative power sources."
He said the message was that simple measures taken in the home can make a difference.
"It might be as simple as putting a water-saving showerhead in your bathroom, or putting door snakes down," Mr Lica said.
The growth of solar water heating and solar-generated electricity in homes was evidence of the increasing awareness of Australians to climate change, he said.
"And when you take a positive step, it feels a lot better when you know that you're not adding to the problem."
Sunday's expo would also address local concerns relating to water pollution in Lake Macquarie, and coal dust pollution from the coal trains, Mr Lica said.
There will be eco and health-minded stallholders, organic food and wine stalls, and a magician for the children.
■ The Eco Health Expo will be held this Sunday, June 28, from 10am to 3pm. It was originally scheduled for Dora Creek Community Hall, but has been switched to Morisset PCYC due to wet weather concerns.
