The proposal for a 12.9 hectare site at 113 Wyndham Way would see rezoning to allow for a 1.4 ha low-density residential zone and a 11.5 ha environmental conservation zone.
A report to council noted that the creation of residential lots would help meet the requirements identified in the Lower Hunter Regional Strategy for 7000 urban infill dwellings in Lake Macquarie.
The draft amendment to the Local Environmental Plan for the land went on public exhibition in February and no objections were received.
