Celebrating Ani
A CEREMONY celebrating the life of popular Wangi Wangi resident Ani O'Wone will be held at Wangi Sailing Club this Sunday, May 24, at 1pm. Ms O'Wone passed away on May 7. Donations in lieu of flowers have been requested as there are plans to install a memorial seat in her name.

Cometh the end
AS part of National Palliative Care Week (May 24 to 30), Toronto Private Hospital is encouraging locals to discuss death and their end of life wishes with family. To facilitate this discussion, the hospital will hold a stall on The Boulevarde, Toronto, on Tuesday, May 26, where hospital staff and other local palliative care services staff will chat to residents regarding services available and palliative care in general.
Pet breeding inquiry
LAKE Macquarie MP Greg Piper has been appointed to a parliamentary committee to inquire into and report on companion animal breeding practices in NSW. It will look into matters such as the prevalence of puppy farms, the implications of banning the sale of cats and dogs from pet stores, and the case for a licensing system for breeders.
Water storage boosted
CENTRAL Coast water storage levels are at 69.9 per cent of capacity this week, an increase of 1418 million litres. This increased storage is due mainly to the transfer of 950 million litres of water from Wyong River to Mangrove Creek Dam via the Mardi-to-Mangrove Link.
