It will be the first time Teralba Amateur Sailing Club hosts the event.
The waters of Cockle Bay and Warners Bay will be alive with colour, thrills and spills.
The regatta will start tomorrow (Friday, May 15) with an invitation race at 3pm when competitors will test the course.
A strong fleet of skiffs from Lake Macquarie, Sydney, Taree and Brisbane will contest the 24th Australian title and the handicap series held in conjunction with the scratch event.
"Crack Sydney skiff Wrecker, sailed by Michael Chapman - the current NSW and Australian champion - will defend his title against a strong Lake Macquarie contingent, including South Lake Macquarie Amateur Sailing Club's Dale Jacobson in Miss Marlene and Teralba's Grant Sheldon on Ramona II," event spokesperson Col Gillespie said.
"A relative newcomer to 10ft skiffs, Sheldon has had success in Brisbane and Taree and returning to his home ground [his] will be a skiff to watch."
Skiffs will sail from 11am on Saturday and Sunday.
