At the same time these businesses use large amounts of electricity for lighting and power.
The power blackouts following the recent storms meant that they either had to close their doors or hire very large diesel generators.
If these stores installed solar panels and battery banks they could operate independently of the grid thus having an assured supply and minimal running costs.
Surely this would be a win, win situation for customers, staff, shareholders and the environment.
