The community spirit that has been on show is inspiring and demonstrates the resilience of our communities and the dedication of our volunteers.
I commend the tireless and courageous efforts of the emergency services, service providers, volunteers and council staff who continue to work for the benefit of our communities.
During the recovery process, it's important that we all continue to demonstrate this community spirit and look out for each other, particularly those who live in storm-affected areas.
Now the worst of the storm has passed, we are able to focus on the city's recovery.
Council is offering two options, both free, for managing the excess green waste from the storm.
A free kerbside green waste collection service for all residents across the city commenced this week.
Residents can also drop off their green waste at council's Teralba Worm Farm, off Griffen Road, Teralba until Sunday, May 10.
There will be no restrictions to the size or amount of green waste that residents can present to the kerb or at Teralba Worm Farm.
For more information on the storm recovery, we encourage residents to follow council at facebook.com/ lakemaccity or twitter.com/lakemac.
