LOCAL residents have received a letter from Lake Macquarie City Council (LMCC) advising that Johnson Property Group (JPG) has lodged a development application (DA) for four four-storey accommodation and serviced apartments at Trinity Point.

Residents are advised they have until May 5 to submit their objections, and that they should refer to LMCC's website tracking system and/or go to Morisset library to view the documents.
There are up to 35 individual documents and/or reports lodged by JPG to support the DA, and the community is required to sift through each of these 35 documents if they want to make objections.
When I was finally able to access LMCC's tracking system I found that these reports submitted to LMCC by JPG are lodged under the same title, simply: "Statement of environmental effects - appendix?".
This means that it is impossible to find individual reports from the developer regarding any of the community's concerns about such things as visual, environmental, and access issues.
This is an unfair process. The community needs to know the contents of the DA.
And LMCC must provide transparency, titles, and adequate access to the contents of all the reports submitted with the DA.
Being able to access track DA applications online is great; not disclosing the title of these "environmental effects" listed on the LMCC's tracking system is not.
