I HAVE been trying to figure out the logic of the design of the new roundabout at the intersection of Rutleys and Wyee roads.

This huge project - which is seeming to take as long to build as the Great Wall of China, and nearly cost as much - has left me bemused.
For some reason the design has implanted large power poles in the concrete just a metre or two from the edge of the road as you go around the curve.
If some unfortunate soul miscalculates on the turn, and they are fortunate enough to miss the first pole, they have a second and third pole to contend with.
It just appears to be another example of how poorly we can do some things in this country.
