OVER the years, Toronto Rotary Club has raised $175,000 for breast cancer research from its annual golf day.
The Rotarians want to make this the year that the event cracks the $200,000 mark.
So the call has gone out for players and sponsors to get involved in the fun four-person ambrose event at Waratah Golf Club next Sunday, April 12.
Rotarian George Heron said all proceeds would again be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Association.
"At last year's golf day it was bucketing down with rain and we still managed to hand over $19,000," Mr Heron said.
"So this year we want to raise $25,000 to bring us up to the $200,000 figure."
Golfers are invited to tee it up for the cause.
Entry costs $60 which includes a sausage sizzle prior to the midday shotgun start, and a meal and presentation after the golf.
There will be a range of long-drive and nearest-the-pin prizes up for grabs.
Sponsors are also sought.
For a $250 sponsorship, businesses or individuals can enter a team and have their signage displayed at a tee or green, Mr Heron said.
Major corporate sponsorships (from $1000 to $5000) are also needed.
Player registrations will be taken from 10am on the day.
