"I love colour and I'm so lucky that we have bright and vibrant local birds and ocean wildlife," Ms Ruma, of Fishing Point, said.
Having won art prizes in NSW and Victoria, Ms Ruma decided it was time to hold her own solo exhibition.
Doubletake Cafe, on The Boulevarde, is displaying and selling the works until May.
"I wanted a casual venue which had amazing food and coffee, where people can just relax and look at my art," she said.
The cafe is open daily from 8am to 4pm.
