The fun sport involves contestants (who don't have to be married) racing over dry and wet obstacles.
The Wyee Point couple aren't sure what to expect, but are excited.
"We heard it was going to be fun, so we thought we may as well have a crack at it," Ms Clancy said.
"We haven't practised yet, but we've been meaning to," she laughed.
"[Practising] is the next step at the moment," Mr Bogers said.
But the pair have done plenty of research on different carrying positions and techniques.
They've settled on the Estonian carry - where the woman hangs upside-down with her legs around the man's shoulders, holding onto his waist.
"Apparently the Estonian carry gives the bloke the most ability to move," Ms Clancy said.
The couple encouraged other locals to enter.
"It's not something you have to go in hell for leather. If you want to be competitive, be competitive, but if you just want to have fun you can do that too."
The race winner will receive free entry to compete at the OAK Australian Wife Carrying Titles at the Singleton Show in September, where competitors have the chance to win a travel package to Finland to compete in the 2016 World Wife Carrying Championships.
The wife carrying is one of many attractions at the two-day event, which will also feature the traditional pet and cattle shows, Morisset Showgirls, the Young Farmers Challenge, a motorbike stunt show, amusement rides, live music, a working dog rescue, and pony rides.
