THE Lions and Lioness clubs of Toronto recently presented $10,000 to the Children's Cancer Institute of Australia.
The Lions raised $8000, while the Lionesses raised $2000.
The money was the proceeds of the Westlakes clubs' Christmas raffle featuring a trailer full of gifts.
Funds raised from the clubs' monthly markets helped to boost the coffers.
The institute's Rebekka Williams accepted the cheques.
The money will be used for research into childhood cancers including neuroblastoma leukaemia.
Lion John Steele said the Christmas trailer raffle was well supported by generous locals.
"We delivered the trailer and its contents on Christmas Eve to the winner at Blackalls Park, and they have several grandchildren," Mr Steele said.
"The children were grateful for the toys while the adults worked through the household goods."
