It was a pleasure to see so many turn up at such a sad time. It was wonderful to see so many past students, staff and community members spend hours talking about their years at the school.
Past students ranged in age from about 7 to over 90. Thanks also to Dora Creek Rural Fire Service for their catering expertise.
The time capsules installed in 1984 were to be opened when the school reached 100, but due to the closure of the school were opened on Saturday, 10 years too early.
These revealed various items relevant to the time they were installed in the barbecue by the then principal Barry Hadfield.
The items the students prepared for the time capsule will be returned to the students after being documented.
Eraring Public School was a wonderful place of learning for both students and staff, and the community support that was given made it extra special.
It is a shame that in recent years that same dedication was not given to the school by staff and families.
