The popular hit makers will headline the entertainment at this year's Lake Macquarie Festival, at Speers Point Park, on Monday.
Lake Macquarie Council's acting community planning manager, Greg Weir, said the Lake Macquarie Festival is one of the biggest days on the city's events calendar.
"The Lake Macquarie Festival is always a popular day out for families," Mr Weir said.
"More than 20,000 people attended last year's celebrations and with an exciting program scheduled for this year's event, I would expect even more people to join in the fun."
The festival will feature local stage entertainment as well as an evening concert with performances by Dragon and The Bushwackers.
This year, ARIA award-winning songwriter and comedian Buddy Goode will MC the concert.
Dragon have sold more than 2 million albums.
Their enduring hits include April Sun In Cuba, Are You Old Enough, Rain, Speak No Evil, and Celebration. And their new material is outstanding.
The Bushwackers, meanwhile, are winners of three Golden Guitar awards.
They are renowned for their energetic shows at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, The Gympie Music Muster and more.
The festival will start at noon with a flag raising ceremony and the screening of the movie Satellite Boy.
Throughout the day there will be market stalls, free kids' activities, local entertainment and the annual Scouts canoe race.
A spectacular fireworks display will be held about 9pm.
