THREE young Central Coast sporting champions have received government grants in support of their outstanding achievements.
Halekulani national soccer player Ethan Byrnes, Gorokan state touch footballer Milla Evans, and San Remo state gymnast champion Monique Villiers have each been awarded $500 to help with training, equipment and travel costs.
Member for Shortland Jill Hall presented the grants.
"We are honoured to have some really talented and high achieving young sportspeople in our local area," Ms Hall said.
"These young people are clearly committed to their chosen sport and working hard to reach their sporting goals.
"The grants are awarded under the Young Sporting Champions program which aims to help families with the cost of elite sporting commitments."
The next round of grant applications is now open for sportspeople aged 12 to 18 years who are competing at a state, national or international level.
