Grants for building and court improvements were awarded to Westlakes District Netball Association, Teralba Amateur Sailing Club, Toronto Croquet Club and Lake Macquarie Rowing Club.
Toronto Croquet Club received $5530 to improve the hoop house.
Lake Macquarie Rowing Club will give its premises a $39,000 upgrade.
Westlakes District Netball Association received $28,200 to refurbish its canteen, and Teralba Amateur Sailing Club will use its $36,000 to replace/repair an awning and outdoor lighting.
Teralba Amateur Sailing Club functions co-ordinator Linda O'Connor said her club had applied for funding for an urgently-needed upgrade of its deteriorating awning and faulty outdoor lighting.
The improvements would allow the club to better accommodate members' events and functions and host major fixtures, such as the national NS14 championships to be staged there over a week this month.
"It means more of our club's resources can be directed to promoting the sport and developing our juniors, instead of paying for maintenance and repairs," Ms O'Connor said.
Mr Piper said Community Building Partnership grants are a great source of funds to build or improve community facilities.
"Since the program began in 2009, I have had the pleasure of announcing more than 80 grants worth $2.3 million to Lake Macquarie community and sporting groups."
Among the other community groups to benefit from the program are Wangi Scouts, Catalina Players, Morisset PCYC, Lake Macquarie Landcare, Southlakes Carers and Biraban Local Aboriginal Land Council.
