He is one of four players from the Newcastle district competition named in the 13-man Bush Blues squad.
The others are captain and batsman Simon Moore (Merewether), off-spinner Nick Foster (Stockton-Raymond Terrace), and opening batsman Jeff Goninan (Stockton-Raymond Terrace).
There are three Central Coast players named in the squad.
Wyong all-rounder Kaine Harmsworth returns after a stint in the Sydney grade competition, while Lisarow provides the fast-bowling duo of Scott Burkinshaw and Mitchell Coombs.
The team are coached by Central Coast veteran Glenn Rowlands.
Last summer's championship was one of the closest in recent years.
Hunt was part of the NSW Country team that finished third.
The team could have won the tournament if they had beaten Queensland in their last round match.
