Morisset-Lake Macquarie District Agricultural Association is looking for community or agriculturally minded young women aged 18 to 23 to be an ambassador for the Morisset Show and the Morisset region.
Entrants are judged on their personality, confidence, life goals, general and rural knowledge, and life experience.
The winner of the competition will get to attend formal and informal events across the region.
Showgirl co-ordinator and 2013 Morisset Showgirl winner Crystelle Truran said the competition is a fantastic experience.
"It's all about fun, friends and community, plus keeping our local show and agriculture alive," Ms Truran said.
"It's no beauty pageant either. At first it seems daunting putting yourself out there but the rewards like more confidence, higher self-esteem, making friendships, and giving back makes it extremely worth it."
Entries for the competition close on January 5.
Judging will begin on January 10 at an afternoon tea with the judges and continues on January 17 at the 2015 Morisset Show's dinner, open to the public at Morisset Country Club. Tickets cost $50 each and include a two-course meal and entertainment.
