A MAN was allegedly assaulted with an iron bar during a home invasion at Toukley overnight.

Shortly after 9pm, a 58-year-old man was confronted by two men in his home on Main Road.
Police said the pair forced their way into the home through a rear door and assaulted the man with an iron bar.
The pair fled a short time later.
A neighbour contacted police and officers from Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command launched an investigation.
The resident sustained lacerations to his head and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Wyong Hospital.
A crime scene was established at the home, which will be examined by detectives and specialist forensic officers.
Officers also conducted a search of the area, but the men were not located.
Police are continuing their inquiries into the incident and are appealing for witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, to come forward.
Detectives believe the incident may be a targeted attack.
