AVONDALE School students have collected non-perishable food items to be used in food parcels for local families who are doing it tough.
Cooranbong Community Centre was pleased to receive the students' generous act of compassion.
Centre volunteer John Maxwell said the students' donation was a blessing to families in need.
"Our Community Centre provides emergency relief, referrals, venues for use of community groups including community pre-school, computer club and hall facilities, crafts and an op shop," Mr Maxwell said.
"It is entirely volunteer operated [so] Avondale School's generous donation showed a huge act of compassion and one that our centre is greatly appreciative of."
