WITH a perfect mix of originality, stage presence and smooth vocals, Kelly Hope can light up any stage.
The country singer-songwriter has tasted success with her EP Two Peas in a Pod, which debuted at No. 3 on the Australian iTunes charts alongside global superstars Ed Sheeran and Passenger.
The Central Coast artist will enjoy a gig close to home at Summerland Sporties on Friday night.
But Hope has also done plenty of travelling internationally.
She even made the pilgrimage to the country music mecca, Nashville, for some studio time.
It was in Nashville she met legendary country songwriter Jim Owens, who has written songs for many country music greats including Hank Williams, George Jones, and Loretta Lyn.
Owen was so impressed by Hope's talent that he insisted that she record a song he wrote a long time ago, but had never found the right singer for.
That song, You Make Me Want To Cheat, appeared on her debut album along with nine other originals.
Since the release of her first album she has been a regular on the Australian country music charts.
■ Kelly Hope will play a free gig at Summerland Sporties, at Summerland Point, tomorrow night, Friday, from 6.30.
