The current marina design lodged by JPG with the Department of Planning (DOP) and Lake Macquarie City Council (LMCC) has not yet been approved.
The current development application with LMCC for a tourist development has not yet been approved yet JPG intends to lodge yet another DA for a heliport.
This DA process is very wrong. It is commonsense that until DAs are approved and/or rejected by the DOP and LMCC for the marina modifications, no further DAs should be received and/or accepted.
There are alternatives to JPG's marina design which could reduce the marina footprint and its impact on the environment.
But as for a heliport in Bardens Bay - no way.
