The pair earned selection after their performances for NSW Country in the Under-17 State Challenge against City at Bowral recently.
Their Toronto clubmates, Logan Johnson and Andrew Somerville, also represented NSW Country in the challenge event.
The national tournament will reunite fast bowler Lea with teammates from the Australian Under-16 Schoolboy team which toured Sri Lanka this year.
The ACT/NSW Country squad is: Blake McDonald (captain, ACT/Southern), Alec Baldwin (North Coastal), Jamie Bekis (North Coastal), Tom Galvin (Western), Matthew Gilkes (ACT/Southern), Griffin Lea (Newcastle), Pat Magann (Central Northern), Lewin Maladay (North Coastal), Peter McCredie (Newcastle), Sam Skelly (ACT/Southern), Joe Slater (ACT/Southern), Ben Taylor (ACT/Southern), Mac Wright (ACT/Southern). Coach: Kyle Piper.
This is the first time that NSW Metropolitan and ACT/NSW Country will be represented at this championship.
This new structure is a result of a recently struck memorandum of understanding between Cricket Australia, Cricket NSW and Cricket ACT to provide more resources and opportunities to players in country NSW and the ACT.
