The announcement follows the outstanding results achieved by the preschool in its National Quality Framework assessment carried out by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority.
"The National Quality Framework sets a national benchmark for the quality of children's education and care services across Australia," preschool director Lynne Howard said.
The preschool scored a rare exceeding rating in the seven assessed areas of educational program and practice, children's health and safety, physical environment, staffing arrangements, relationships with children, partnerships with families and communities, and leadership and service management.
The preschool also received an exceeding rating overall.
Ms Howard attributed the success to the preschool's "passionate and devoted team" as well as community support.
It was support from Club Grants and Wangi Workers Club that had enabled the preschool to employ an occupational therapist.
The preschool is now raising funds to also employ a speech pathologist next year.
Ms Howard said her team had plans to open Little Peter Pan Cottage.
"This proposed service would be a not-for-profit community-based long day care centre offering 39 places in the Rathmines-Wangi Wangi area some time in 2015," she said.
This new service would cater for newborns to three-year-olds.
