IN reply to Mr Stevenson's letter ("Greenies: less talk, more action", Lakes Mail, October 23) it is very reassuring that there are young Australians, Greenies or otherwise, who do have an opinion and are prepared to speak up.

We may not share their point of view on various issues, but that is democracy.
It is important to have people expressing opposing points of view, so that, after listening to all arguments, a reasonable resolution can be determined somewhere in between.
So go ahead, young Greenies, take up your cause and say your piece.
I am certain that you will be the very ones volunteering in Landcare teams, clearing the lantana and protecting our natural heritage in the years to come.
