Kincumber earned first innings points when they made 167 in reply to the home team's first innings total of just 91.
Batting a second time, Northern Power had the wobbles early at 2-24. But Archer (45) and Gillies (41) teamed up to play confidently and resist the Kincumber surge.
Brendon Charlton (29 not out) and Joshua Doyle (20 not out) continued to bat Northern Power to safety.
Northern Power will take on Wyong at Baker Park this Saturday.
In the Newcastle district cricket match at Lynn Oval, Toronto Workers were dismissed for 247 in pursuit of Stockton-Raymond Terrace's first innings total of 9-349.
Logan Johnson scored an unbeaten 50 for Toronto.
Toronto Workers will host Merewether at Ron Hill Oval on Saturday.
