Residents and businesses in the suburbs of Charmhaven, Gorokan, Hamlyn Terrace, Kanwal, Lake Haven, Toukley, Warnervale, Wadalba, Wyong and Woongarrah may experience incidences of discoloured tap water and changes in water pressure as a result of these works.
It is expected that any discoloured water will clear overnight, however residents may still experience incidents during the next few days.
The water supply in the area will not be interrupted and is safe to drink.
As a precaution, residents in the affected areas should check their tap water before washing clothing. If residents experience discoloured water whilst washing clothes, they should keep the clothes wet and rewash them when the water clears to minimise the risk of staining.
Residents are advised to run the front garden tap for 60 seconds every half an hour to check if the water has cleared. If the water does not clear, or is of low pressure, after an hour residents should call council on 4350 5555.
Council apologises for any inconvenience caused.
