The 17-year-old Toronto High School student has been competing in aerobics for only three years yet she will represent Australia at the World Aerobics Championship for the second time in as many years.
Anika will travel to Prague, in the Czech Republic, tomorrow to compete in the trio seniors category.
The five-day event starts on Tuesday, October 21, and runs until Saturday, October 25.
Anika and two teammates will have two minutes to impress the judges, who will judge them on skill, fitness and creativity.
The Awaba resident described aerobics as a high-intensity mix of gymnastics and dancing.
"Compared to dancing and gymnastics, it's more high intensity, more training, and it's a got a different competitive nature. I think it's more exciting," Anika said.
Despite competing in the event last year, Anika said she was still nervous but also very excited.
"We placed sixth in the final at last year's World Championship, which were held in Serbia."
She said the team's experience in the 2013 World Aerobic Championship placed them in good stead for this year's event.
"This time we know what to expect. It's a different competition this year but we've also improved.
"I think we'll do well - we have a great team."
