But no mention is given to the glorification of alcohol which, apparently, is needed to communicate at a social level.
I call it the brown poison - it has destroyed more families than any famine or natural disaster.
The media has embedded the thought that alcohol is an essential part of having a good time.
Families who once boiled the kettle on an outing now take the esky.
What hope do the children have?
I, myself, enjoy the odd glass of ale in moderation, at the right time, and in the right place.
But the coverage in the media of irresponsible, childish antics that flow from alcohol inflicts more damage than was done when tobacco was freely displayed by the media.
As far as the waistline sag (eh, sorry, I mean saga) it is an unwinning exercise without government intervention.
