THE sailing season has officially kicked off and Speers Point Amateur Sailing Club is welcoming sailors of all skill levels into its ranks.
Publicity officer Bridget Gunn said there was a huge sailing season planned for the summer.
"This year the club will institute a number of fun and friendly races including sprint series racing, based on the America's Cup World Series style, boat and clubhouse starts, along with the popular annual Pulbah Island marathon," Ms Gunn said.
"On some days, handicap starts are used to benefit new or slower sailors, and experienced sailors are always willing to help newcomers.
"The club will also host the Mosquito Catamaran National Titles over the Christmas and New Year break."
Ms Gunn said the club had fantastic facilities in a great location, with spacious on-grass rigging, great views and social atmosphere for apres sails (after sailing).
There are low membership fees for juniors and full-time students.
Ms Gunn said anyone interested should come down to the club any time between September and April.
