Some televisions will retune automatically but some may need to be done manually.
Retuning is done using the TV remote controller - for most systems press the "menu" button on the remote, look for settings such as "channels" or "auto-tuning" and follow the prompts to retune.
The Department of Communications said the retune moves free-to-air TV channels to a new location on the broadcast spectrum and it is unlikely to change TV reception or coverage.
"There may be some temporary disruptions due to work being conducted at the transmission site," a spokesperson said.
