I READ with interest the front page story regarding poor or non-existent TV reception of channels 7 and 10 ("TV tower job hits signal", Lakes Mail, August 7).

About three years ago, we here at Warners Bay experienced the same problems with both 7 and 10.
After spending a lot of money on two different types of boosters without much success, I contacted another TV antenna firm who diagnosed the problem immediately and told us a booster wouldn't fix the problem (as we had found out), but a different type of antenna directed towards the new TV tower on Munibung Hill instead of the one directed towards Mount Sugarloaf, was the answer.
Sure enough, this fixed our problem and we've enjoyed perfect reception of all channels ever since.
Hoping this information may assist people in the areas mentioned in your story, as well as any other Lake Macquarie and Central Coast areas similarly affected.
