This is because until the 16th century, spring was only ever applied in English in the context of the source of a river.
Despite this, the events of spring were very important in the Bible.
Spring fever is not a mere myth. The body may experience physiological changes in the energising atmosphere of spring and it is proven that children grow faster in spring.
When spring arrives, more sunlight brightens your home as the days grow longer.
The increased sunlight also shows up the dirt and clutter that has accumulated over winter.
Here is a recipe for a spiritual refreshing in spring.
Spring cleaning - Let the light of the world flow into your soul. No sin is too messy for God to clean up.
Eliminate clutter - Get rid of those distractions that block your intimate relationship with God.
Scrub away dirt - Cleanse bitterness and poor attitudes from your soul by asking God to disinfect your life.
Vacuum - Suck up everyday annoyances and resentments that stain your soul and be willing to forgive.
Dust - Wipe away the things that hinder you from moving forward with God.
Polish - Make your relationships shine by serving others as God leads you.
Organise - Rearrange your life so you can dream new dreams.
